NEW DELHI: A Mumbai-based exporter, which manages the shipment for food, has showcased healthy snacks made from millets at the 16th edition of BIOFACH India 2024, held at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida.

The government is promoting these millets worldwide as a solution to global nutrition challenges.

Among the products displayed by Pazago, headed by Nikhil Aggarwal, were freeze-dried biryani, ragi puffs, dried upma, freeze-dried pineapple, and freeze-dried chikoo, highlighting some of the diverse offerings at one of the biggest exhibitions of organic food.

While talking to The New Indian, a Pazago representative said India’s whole range of organic millet-based ready-to-eat products have begun to find large range of buyers in East asia and Europe both

“The company mainly operates in the international market. Japan, the US, and European countries are the major consumers. The purpose was to cater to those who can’t access the ingredients to make these Indian foods outside, like biryani and upma,” said Kinjal, a marketing representative from Pazago.

Pazago said they are also considering to sell their products across India as well.

“As many Indian women are now working and could hardly find time to cook, they can opt for a healthy and quick-to-cook option instead of consuming outside junk food.”

Pazao also shared the low-calorie recipe for some of these snacks .

“Most of these snacks are made from millet. Instead of frying, we have roasted them to minimize oil usage. For example, in the case of ragi puffs, only 8% oil is used in its roasting.”

Regarding the freeze-dried biryani, Kinjal illustrated, “It is cooked biryani, but its moisture has been removed. It can be prepared in 2 minutes by adding hot water and can be used for up to 9-10 months.”

Another Pazago representative, Nidhi, said, “This is one of the first apps where you can find all the tools for export in one place. The aim is to simplify export operations, from finding buyers and handling documentation to managing logistics, communication, insurance, and customs clearance. It can be accessed anywhere.”
