Bihar minor abducted, raped & thrown by roadside

A tent house owner has been arrested

PATNA: In what has become a usual occurrence in Bihar, a minor schoolgirl was abducted, raped and then thrown unconscious by the roadside in Kaimur district on Monday.

The 14-year-old girl was peddling to her school in Durgavati police station area when some goons abducted her and violated her inside a tent house run by one of the accused.

Tent house owner Avinash Kumar has been arrested, according to the police.

After leaving the victim in an unconscious state, the accused callously fled the scene, leaving the girl stranded on the roadside.

Her family said that the girl was abducted by three-four men, but police did not confirm whether the survivor was raped by one person or all of them took turns.

The incident came to light when vigilant passersby noticed the unconscious girl and immediately alerted the Durgavati Police Station. The family of the victim was also promptly informed about the horrifying ordeal.

The unconscious girl was rushed to the Durgavati Primary Health Center (PHC) for immediate medical attention, and was later referred to the district hospital in Bhabhua for further treatment.

“She was on her way to school when three or four individuals abducted her and took her to a room. After the rape, they threw her on the road. She was later admitted to the hospital. We demand immediate action from the authorities,” said Imran Khan, a local leader who accompanied the family to the hospital.

Confirming the arrest of one suspect, Mohania DSP Faiz Ahmed Khan said, “The 14-year-old girl was cycling to her school when the accused, Avinash Kumar, who runs a tent house, forcibly pulled her into his shop and committed the act of rape. We have arrested him, and appropriate legal measures are being taken.”

The shocking incident has sparked outrage and demands for justice, with family members vowing to launch a protest if swift action is not taken.
