Bhupesh Baghel Meets Priyanka Gandhi In Delhi, Discusses Congress’ Strategy For 2022 UP Elections

NEW DELHI: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday met Congress General secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in the national capital and discussed strategy for the upcoming elections in Uttar Pradesh.

According to party sources, the two leaders discussed the party’s strategy for the crucial assembly polls in the state, where it has been out of power since 1988. The two leaders also discussed the party’s candidates.

The meeting comes a day after Priyanka Gandhi met Asha Workers in Lucknow, who were allegedly manhandled by Uttar Pradesh Police when they were trying to meet Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Shahjahanpur. WATCH: AAP Bathinda Rural MLA Ruby Roots For CM Channi; Joins Congress

Priyanka Gandhi is trying to revive the party in most populous state. Last month she had announced to give 40 per cent tickets to women candidates in the state. She had also announced several soaps for the people in the state If Congress comes to power.

Priyanka Gandhi, who is also the in-charge of the party in Uttar Pradesh, has been critical of the state government over several issues.

She has on number of times raked up the issues of law and order situation, women safety and issues of farmers on number of occasions.
