NEW DELHI: Bengaluru police have registered an FIR against Virat Kohli’s One8 Commune pub and several other establishments on MG Road for operating past the allowed closing time of 1 am. According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Central, these pubs were found open until 1:30 am, violating city regulations.
The crackdown came after complaints about loud music late at night. One8 Commune, located near the Chinnaswamy cricket stadium, was among the cited establishments. The DCP stated that 3-4 pubs were operating beyond the permissible time, causing disturbances with loud music.
The investigation into the violations is ongoing, with further actions pending. The manager of One8 Commune-Bengaluru faces specific charges for keeping the pub open and serving customers at 1:20 am. The FIR was registered after a night patrol sub-inspector confirmed the late operations.
One8 Commune, co-owned by Virat Kohli, has branches in other major cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Gurgaon, and Kolkata. The Bengaluru branch, situated on the sixth floor of Ratnam’s Complex, was launched in December last year.

This enforcement action highlights the authorities’ efforts to ensure compliance with city regulations on operating hours and noise levels. Kohli, who has played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore since the inception of the Indian Premier League (IPL), has a significant connection to Bengaluru.
Last year, One8 Commune faced controversy when a man from Tamil Nadu was denied entry to the Mumbai branch for wearing a “veshti.” Additionally, the Delhi High Court restrained One8 Commune from playing songs under Phonographic Performance Limited’s (PPL) copyright without permission.
The police have also taken similar actions against three other pubs for the same violations.
