17-year-old Sanchith Sudhir Rau from Bengaluru has secured AIR 10 and Karnataka Rank 1 in the CLAT UG 2025.
NEW DELHI: In a remarkable achievement, 17-year-old Sanchith Sudhir Rau from Bengaluru has secured All-India Rank (AIR) 10 and Karnataka Rank 1 in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) UG 2025. The results were announced on Sunday. Scoring an impressive 99.98 percentile, Sanchith has made his mark in one of India’s most competitive entrance exams.
A resident of Sadashivanagar, Sanchith is the son of Sudhir Rao, a software engineer, and Anuradha Rau, a yoga teacher. Currently a student at Sindhi High School, Hebbal, Sanchith began his preparation for CLAT in May 2023. This year, he intensified his efforts, devoting five to six hours daily to studies outside his school curriculum, according to media report.
To overcome moments of burnout, Sanchith turned to tennis, his passion, which he used as a way to recharge. Reflecting on his preparation journey, he expressed gratitude towards his teachers, whose support and guidance helped him master core concepts and clarify doubts, the report added.

Sanchith’s decision to pursue law is deeply inspired by his grandfather, who shared captivating stories about his legal practice. These anecdotes ignited Sanchith’s ambition to follow in his footsteps and explore the field of law, the report further said. Now, with his eyes set on joining the prestigious National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru, Sanchith is ready to begin his new academic journey.
In a significant development for law aspirants, NLSIU has announced an increase of 10 seats for Karnataka students in its BA LLB (Hons) programme for the 2025-26 academic year. This expansion comes in addition to the existing 25% horizontal reservation for eligible Karnataka students. The move aims to enhance opportunities for local students aspiring to join the top-tier law institution, as reported by media.
The admissions counselling process for CLAT 2025 will commence on or before December 11, 2024, with registration open until December 20, 2024. The first allotment list will be published on December 26, 2024, followed by the payment of the confirmation fee for freeze and float options and admission by NLUs, scheduled from December 26, 2024, to January 4, 2025. The second allotment list will be released on January 10, 2025, with the corresponding payment window open from January 10 to 16, 2025.

Similarly, the third allotment list will be published on January 24, 2025, and candidates can complete fee payments between January 24 and 30, 2025. For those opting for the freeze option across the first three rounds, the final payment of university fees to the respective NLUs is due by May 14, 2025.
The fourth allotment list will be announced on May 20, 2025, with fee payments for this round scheduled from May 20 to 24, 2025. The fifth and final allotment list will be released on May 29, 2025, with the confirmation fee payment window extending until June 2, 2025.
Candidates finalizing admissions under the fourth and fifth rounds must pay the remaining university fees by June 10, 2025.
