NEW DELHI: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) education minister and senior party leader Atishi on Thursday kicked a storm after she said that she was being sent messages that investigative agencies like CBI and ED would arrest Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal if the alliance with INDIA members goes on for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Her statement coincided with ED’s seventh summons sent to Kejriwal on Thursday even as the Rouse Avenue court has fixed the date for hearing the case on March 17.

Kejriwal has maintained that the legality of the summons in the court, calling them illegal as the ED has refused to identify him as an accused or witness in the Delhi Excise policy case.

Atishi’s claims also coincide with the informal agreement between AAP & Congress to jointly contest Lok Sabha polls in Delhi and Gujarat with a seat-sharing agreement. AAP will contest on four seats in Delhi while Congress on three seats. In Gujarat, AAP will contest on two seats and Congress on the rest.

However, in Punjab, both AAP and Congress —  which locked horns in 2022 Punjab Vidhan Sabha elections, leading to AAP’s gigantic victory — will contest separately.

AAP’s three senior leaders including Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh and Satyendra Jain, have been lodged in jail in cases related to ED.
