NEW DELHI – AV Automation, a leading industrial automation solutions provider based in Gurugram, showcased its latest innovation, a high-capacity pick-and-place robot, at the 10th India International Trade Fair and MSME Expo held at Pragati Maidan from August 22 to August 24.
The robot, a product of Japanese engineering with internal components manufactured in India, is designed to handle boxes weighing between 7 kg and 1,000 kg. This makes it an ideal solution for industries requiring heavy lifting capabilities. Bhusan Diwan, the Founder of AV Automation, highlighted the robot’s advanced features in an exclusive conversation with The New Indian.

“Through the industrial camera installed in it, the robot first examines the box to ensure it is properly assembled,” Diwan explained. “It then smoothly picks the object from one place and places it at the designated location. The robot can handle a wide range of weights, from 7 kg to 1,000 kg.”
AV Automation primarily serves clients in the automotive, pharmaceutical, packaging, food, and beverage sectors. While the robots are imported from the Japanese company Nachi, the integrated parts are manufactured in India, making it a “mixed solution.”
The MSME Expo, aimed at supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, provided AV Automation with valuable insights into government schemes. “There are many schemes for MSMEs that we learned about at this expo. The government is already working on the ‘Make in India’ initiative, and we are aligned with this path,” Diwan said.

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal’s visit to the expo boosted the morale of participants. Addressing the expo, Minister Goyal emphasized the crucial role that MSMEs play in the Indian economy, describing them as vital contributors that supply large industries and generate employment for millions.
Goyal underscored the government’s support for MSMEs through Quality Control Orders (QCOs), which protect MSMEs from unfair competition by preventing the import of substandard goods at low prices.
The event highlighted the synergy between innovation and government support, showcasing how companies like AV Automation are contributing to the ‘Make in India’ initiative and the broader industrial landscape.
