The New Indian has obtained the autopsy report, conducted on August 10 at RG Kar Medical College, which details the extent of the injuries inflicted on the victim. The report indicates that the victim was violently assaulted before and after the sexual assault.

According to the autopsy, there were multiple external injuries on the victim’s body. “There were multiple crescentic abrasions on both cheeks, likely caused by nails. Bruises and abrasions were found on various parts of the body, including the neck, upper arm, and thigh,” the report stated.

Notably, the autopsy report mentions the absence of defensive injuries or signs of a struggle, suggesting that the victim may have been overpowered. The main accused, Sanjoy Roy, has been arrested by the Kolkata Police. However, the victim’s family has expressed doubts about the investigation, questioning whether the seminar room, where the crime is said to have taken place, is the actual scene of the crime.

In response to these concerns, the Calcutta High Court transferred the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on August 13.

On Saturday, a CBI team equipped with advanced 3D laser scanners arrived at the seminar hall to create a digital replica of the area. The team worked diligently throughout the day, avoiding any interaction with the media.

Meanwhile, the CBI has been questioning Dr Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, for the third consecutive day. As part of their investigation, the agency has requested a detailed record of his phone calls made before and after the incident.
