Arvind Kejriwal accuses BJP of political maneuvering with CAA

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday accused the BJP Party of playing politics over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and said, “What will happen if 1.5 crore people enter India from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan?” He stated, “In the whole world, no country wants to bring poor people from neighbouring countries.”

“What is CAA? The BJP says if minorities of Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan seek political asylum, they would be given Indian citizenship. It means a large number of minorities living in these countries will be brought to India. And they will be provided with employment and houses. This is very strange,” said Kejriwal.

“BJP can’t employ our children, but they have decided to employ the children of Pakistani nationals by bringing them to India. In India, people don’t have houses to live in, but they wants to bring people from Pakistan and give them houses. The BJP wants to give our jobs and houses to Pakistanis by bringing them here,” Kejriwal said.

He said that the BJP will spend money on the rehabilitation of Pakistani and Bangladeshi nationals instead of using that fund for development. Kejriwal further said that Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan are poor countries, and as soon as CAA is implemented, a large crowd from these countries will enter India. “If one and a half crore people enter India, who will give them jobs? Where will you rehabilitate them? A few people told me that all this is nothing but dirty politics for making them a vote bank,” Kejriwal accused the BJP.

He said that if the BJP rehabilitates them in selected areas where they lose elections, this will benefit them as a vote bank. Kejriwal said that the BJP-led Haryana government failed to provide jobs to its people and sent them to Russia to participate in war, and on the other hand, they are implementing CAA.

Kejriwal said that by implementing CAA, the BJP was trying to divert attention from other issues. Kejriwal held a digital press conference in which he delivered a speech against CAA. He said that there would be dire consequences for the CAA.

“The BJP ruled the country for ten years, and just before the Lok Sabha election, they decided to implement CAA. If they did something, they would be canvassing for development, not CAA. Today the biggest issues in the country are unemployment and inflation. Everybody is facing problems in running their homes. And our government is talking about CAA instead of solving people’s problems,” Kejriwal said.
