PUNE: On the 77th Army Day, General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of Army Staff, assured the nation of the Indian Army’s unwavering readiness to confront any challenges, emphasizing the force’s modernization and strategic preparedness. Addressing the Army Day Parade in Pune, General Dwivedi stated, “Our Army is fully ready and capable to deal with any situation.”
General Dwivedi highlighted the sensitive yet stable situation along the northern borders, particularly with China. He emphasized the Army’s preparedness to handle any challenges, stating, “We are focusing on installing modern technologies, defence platforms, and developing critical infrastructure.”
Regarding the western borders with Pakistan, General Dwivedi noted that while a ceasefire is maintained along the Line of Control (LoC), attempts at infiltration continue. He stated, “The situation is sensitive but stable.”

General Dwivedi emphasized the Army’s role in strengthening internal security, pointing to the peaceful conduct of elections and the successful completion of the Amarnath Yatra as indicators of improved security in Jammu and Kashmir. He noted that the “theme” of terrorism to tourism is gradually taking shape in the region.
The Army Chief outlined a comprehensive roadmap for the Army’s transformation, focusing on modernization, agility, adaptability, and technological advancement. He stated, “We are on the path to making the Indian Army modern, agile, adaptable, technology-enabled, and future-ready.”
General Dwivedi also highlighted efforts to empower women in the Indian Army, noting that women are now joining as Agniveers, not just as officers.

The Army Day Parade in Pune, held at the Bombay Engineers Group Centre, showcased the Army’s evolving capabilities, highlighting inclusivity, technological innovation, and a deep connection with the nation’s citizens.
