SRINAGAR: General Upendra Dwivedi on Thursday inspected the Keran region along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir to assess the readiness of the soldiers engaged in counter-infiltration efforts.
In a post on X, the Army mentioned that the General commended all personnel for their high levels of professionalism and urged them to stay resolute in addressing evolving security threats.
“General Upendra Dwivedi visited the frontlines and evaluated the security conditions along the Line of Control. He also communicated with the Commanders and soldiers on the ground,” the Army noted.
This month, five infiltrating terrorists were neutralized in the Keran region of Kupwara as the Army thwarted two infiltration attempts. The first attempt was foiled on July 18 when two infiltrators were eliminated, and another on July 14 when three were killed in the Keran sector.
The General received a comprehensive briefing on the counter-infiltration operations along the LoC at Keran. He was informed about the infiltration attempts that were thwarted this month.

Despite challenging terrain, the soldiers maintain continuous surveillance and patrol the LoC to prevent infiltration. Groups of terrorists are poised on launch pads, waiting to infiltrate, but the soldiers remain vigilant to counter their plans.
An official reported that the General praised the soldiers for their vigilance along the LoC in preventing infiltration. He urged them to stay alert to thwart enemy schemes as they had done previously.
The General was also briefed by the Commanders at the 15th Corps headquarters on the operational readiness of the forces in the interior regions to combat terrorism. He was informed that the Army is proactive and consistently conducts intelligence-based operations across the Valley.
Upon arriving on Wednesday, General Dwivedi, along with Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, GOC-in-C Northern Command, Chinar Corps Commander, civil dignitaries, and all ranks of Chinar Corps, paid tribute to Naik Dilawar Khan, who sacrificed his life during an anti-terror operation in Kupwara.
