Suraj started working in Poland five months back as a supervisor in a private firm.
23-year old Suraj from Ollur in Thrissur, Kerala was stabbed to death on Sunday by a group of Georgian citizens following an altercation. Four other Malayalees who had intervened in the brawl were also stabbed and injured by the accused. The incident was also confirmed by the Indian Embassy in Poland, as per reports.

The incident happened inside the apartment of a factory where Suraj was working. Other youths who were working with him were also injured in attack. Suraj was stabbed deep in his chest and neck. He was taken to a nearby hospital but could not be saved.
Reacting on the incident and taking cognizance of the matter, MOS MEA V Muraleedharan tweeted, “Spoke to our Ambassador in Poland on the unfortunate death of two people from Kerala. Embassy is constantly engaging with the authorities concerned for justice and early release of mortal remains. Government of India will continue to extend all possible assistance.”
This is second death of an Indian citizen from Kerala in Poland. Recently a man from Kerala’s Palakkad was found dead in Poland.
It was on January 24th when 30-year-old man Ibrahim Sharif from Kerala’s Palakkad who worked as an IT department officer at ING Bank in Poland was stabbed to death at his residence. Ibrahim, who had been living in Poland for the past 10 months, was not available on the phone since January 24. Following this, his relatives contacted the embassy and conducted an investigation. Police has taken one person into custody in connection with the murder. However, the identity of the person and the motive behind the murder is yet to be revealed.
