NEW DELHI: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has announced plans to establish a ‘Quantum Valley’ in the state, aiming to position Andhra Pradesh at the forefront of quantum computing research and development.
Naidu emphasized that quantum technology is set to bring revolutionary changes across various sectors, and Andhra Pradesh must lead in this transformative field.
“To secure a first-mover advantage, we are setting up a task force and working on a plan to create a world-class quantum computing hub in line with the National Quantum Mission,” he stated in a post on ‘X’.
To realize this vision, the state government is collaborating with IIT Madras, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), and IBM.
The initiative aims to attract top-tier talent, foster cutting-edge research, and secure global investments, making Andhra Pradesh a national hub for quantum computing.
On Monday, a crucial meeting was held with key stakeholders, including L&T Chairman & MD SN Subrahmanyan, Abhay Karandikar from the Department of Science and Technology (DST), and IBM Quantum India leader Venkat Subramaniam.
Speaking at a book launch in Vijayawada, Naidu reiterated his commitment to deep technology and quantum computing.
He highlighted that discussions with major industry leaders and research institutions, including TCS, L&T, IIT Madras, IBM, and DST, focused on integrating these technologies into Amaravati’s development plans.
“I went one step ahead and envisioned a future where deep technology and quantum computing become integral to Andhra Pradesh. Quantum computing must come to Amaravati,” he stated.
Naidu further noted that deep technology and quantum computing represent the future.
The meeting with stakeholders explored research opportunities and strategies to implement these technologies in Amaravati, strengthening Andhra Pradesh’s position as a leader in advanced computing.
