NEW DELHI: Anand Mahindra, the chairman of the Mahindra Group, was amazed to see lakhs gathering at Mumbaiโs Marine Drive for Team Indiaโs victory parade. The team had just returned from Barbados after winning the T20 World Cup but it was delayed due to bad weather. Arriving in New Delhi on a chartered plane early Thursday, they met with PM Narendra Modi before heading to Mumbai later in the day.
The Indian T20I cricket team took part in a historic victory parade on an open bus along Marine Drive. The roads were filled with lakhs of fans joyously celebrating and eagerly awaiting the arrival of the team. Despite the teamโs delayed arrival, the enthusiasm of the passionate fans remained high, undeterred by the long wait in the crowd.
Fans packed every corner of Mumbaiโs Marine Drive, creating a sea of blue as they awaited a glimpse of the victorious T20 World Cup-winning Indian team. In response to a photo of the scene, Anand Mahindra renamed it Marine Drive. โItโs no longer the Queenโs Necklace in Mumbai. Itโs now Mumbaiโs โJaadu Ki Jhappiโ,โ Mahindra announced on X.
