NEW DELHI: Amity Foundation for Science, Technology & Innovation Alliances (AFSTIA), Amity University Noida organized the visit of Prof. Unnat P. Pandit, Controller General of Patents, Designs & Trademarks, Govt. of India for a discussion on “The Evolution and Necessity of Intellectual Property in Amrit Kaal: Fostering Innovation and Growth through Academic Research”. During his visit, Prof. Pandit’s inspirational address underscored the university’s commitment to scientific advancement and its potential to drive the nation’s progress towards becoming a global superpower by 2047.
Prof. Pandit emphasized the importance of showcasing Amity’s achievements in patenting new technologies. He proposed the creation of a dedicated wall displaying all patents granted to the university. This initiative aims to inspire students to pursue innovative research and contribute to the university’s growing portfolio of intellectual property.
Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President of the Amity Education Group, expressed enthusiasm about Prof. Pandit’s visit, noting that his insights have energized the university’s efforts in research and innovation. Dr. Chauhan affirmed Amity’s dedication to advancing India’s status through scientific development.
Dr. Atul Chauhan, Chancellor of Amity University Uttar Pradesh, echoed this sentiment, highlighting that research and innovation remain central to Amity’s mission. He commended Prof. Pandit’s impactful suggestions and the renewed focus they provide for collaborative advancement.
Dr. Aseem Chauhan, Chancellor of Amity University Haryana, praised Prof. Pandit’s passion for enhancing the country’s research ecosystem. He also noted the significance of Atal Tinkering Labs, established to foster curiosity and creativity among students, preparing them for future challenges.

The event featured presentations on “Amity University and its Research Ecosystem” by Dr. A.K. Singh, Sr. Vice President of AFSTIA, and “An Introduction to Amity IPR Ecosystem” by Dr. Smita Sahu, Director of the Amity IPR Cell. The Welcome Address was delivered by Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Deputy Director General of AFSTIA. The occasion was attended by various dignitaries, including Dr. W. Selvamurthy, President of ASTIF, and Dr. Gurinder Singh, Group Vice Chancellor of Amity Universities, alongside scientists, senior faculty, and heads of institutions.
