NEW DELHI: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has launched a series of sharp critiques against the Congress party, targeting its leadership and historical stance on constitution and reservation during a press event held in New Delhi. The event, attended by media representatives and BJP leaders, was organized to address recent political developments and clarify the BJPโ€™s stance on key issues.

At the event, Shah addressed Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge directly, suggesting that the partyโ€™s current trajectory would confine it to the opposition benches for the next 15 years. He emphasized that the Congressโ€™s internal leadership struggles and lack of direction are contributing to its prolonged political challenges.

โ€œKharge ji is asking for my resignation. If it would have made him happy, I would have resigned, but it will not end his problems because he will have to sit in the same place (in the opposition) for the next 15 years. My resignation will not change that,โ€ Shah said, addressing a press conference in the national capital.

Shah accused the Congress of being โ€œanti-Ambedkarโ€ and โ€œanti-reservation,โ€ alleging that the party has historically distorted facts. He claimed that the Congress had failed to honor Dr. B.R. Ambedkarโ€™s vision and legacy, particularly in the context of uplifting marginalized communities.

โ€œSince yesterday, Congress has been presenting the facts in a distorted way and I condemn itโ€ฆ Congress is anti-BR Ambedkar, it is against reservation and the Constitution. Congress also insulted Veer Savarkar. By imposing Emergency, they violated all Constitutional values,โ€ he said.

The press event served as a platform for the BJP to reinforce its position, while discrediting the Congressโ€™s track record. Shah also used the occasion to outline the BJPโ€™s achievements in empowering marginalized communities, contrasting them with the Congressโ€™s alleged failures.

Amit Shahโ€™s remarks at the New Delhi press event have added fuel to the ongoing political discourse.
