SRINAGAR: Senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Amit Kumar, an erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) cadre officer now serving under the AGMUT cadre, has been promoted to the rank of Inspector General (IG) in the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Before this, Kumar held the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) position within the same organization.   The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) sanctioned the NIA’s proposal for Kumar’s promotion.
