Amarnath Yatra: Terror Outfit Issues Threat; Warns ‘Blood Will Spill’

SRINAGAR: The Resistance Front, an off-shoot of terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba, has threatened to spill blood as it issued a threat to the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Yatra.

In a letter released on Sunday, TRF said that the fascist regime is pumping RSS Sanghis into the valley in the name of pilgrimage.

“They (government) are going to use Amarnath Yatra for their dirty politics. From mere 15,000 to 8 lakh pilgrim registrations and from 15 days to 80 days is just to provoke the sensitivity of the Kashmir situation. It has come to our knowledge that this fascist regime is pumping RSS Sanghis into the Valley in the name of Amarnath Yatra,” read the threat letter from the terror outfit.

“We are not against any religious matter but when such religious institutions are used against Kashmir struggle, then it becomes our concern to take such matters in our hands,” it further stated.

TRF said that it would do its best to hinder the government’s schemes if the Amarnath Yatra is used for political and demographic gains.

Further, it warned the pilgrims that they would be safe unless they “interfered in the Kashmir issue or gave shelter to Sanghi goons”.

“We will openly target any stooge who becomes a pawn of this regime and the blood of such stooges and pawns will spill like anything, and in everywhere from Jammu to Kashmir,” it stated.

This is the first time that in recent years some terror outfit has issued such a threat. The Yatra is scheduled to start on June 30.

Meanwhile, the authorities are leaving no stone unturned for an incident-free Yatra. According to officials, anti-drone systems will be deployed in such a manner that it covers both the routes of Baltal and Pahalgam. They also reported that this anti-drone system will also be deployed at the key checkpoints of the Yatra to thwart any threat from drone attacks. The decision comes following the prevailing drone threat from across the border.

Following the cancellation of the Amarnath Yatra in 2020 and 2021, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, security agencies are employing technology on a scale for the annual pilgrimage in the wake of recent terror incidents.
