NEW DELHI: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has assured strict action against Ranveer Allahbadia, also known as BeerBiceps, and others involved in making offensive remarks on the YouTube show Indiaโs Got Latent.
The controversy erupted after Allahbadia posed an inappropriate question to a contestant. Social media users reacted with outrage, calling the remark crass and unacceptable.
Addressing the issue, Fadnavis said he was aware of the controversy. He stated, โI have come to know about it. I have not seen it yet. Things have been said and presented in a wrong way. Everyone has freedom of speech, but our freedom ends when we encroach upon the freedom of others. In our society, we have made some rules. If someone violates them, it is absolutely wrong and action should be taken against them.โ

He assured that strict action would be taken against those responsible.
During the show, Allahbadia asked a contestant, โWould you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?โ The question shocked viewers. Many condemned it as tasteless and inappropriate for a public platform.
A formal complaint has been filed with the Mumbai Commissioner and Maharashtra Womenโs Commission. The complaint names Ranveer Allahbadia, host Samay Raina, and others involved.
Lawyers have flagged the remarks as offensive and disrespectful towards women. They are demanding an FIR against those responsible.
