New Delhi: Former UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav was a frequent visitor to Hathras Baba, Bhole Baba alias Surajpal and even called his congregation Brahmand.
In January last year, Akhilesh Yadav reportedly attended his Satsang. He also posted photos on his X handle praising Surajpal. “May Narayan Sakar Hari be praised forever in the entire universe,” read his post on X which he posted on 3 January 23.

In this tweet, he posted four photos. In one photo he is addressing the crowd at Satsang whereas in another photo he is sitting like a devotee.
A video of Akhilesh has also gone viral in which he is saying that it was because of Surajpal that the sky was not cloudy but clear and the sun was shining (he was referring to cold days). “Because of you, the sky is clear. We can see the sun now,” Akhilesh says in the video. Now, people are trolling Akhilesh Yadav by putting his old tweets and videos which he posted in favour of Surajpal.
“Received the sad news of the ‘Hathras tragedy’. My condolences to all the deceased! It’s essential to assess the human errors that occurred during such events and learn lessons for the future. A thorough investigation and subsequent action can prevent the recurrence of such incidents. Deep condolences to the grieving families,” Yadav posted on Tuesday.
In his tweet, Yadav didn’t criticize Surajpal or the organiser. People are also accusing him of shielding Surajpal for this. Surajpal is on the run after the incident. He was reportedly seen in Mainpuri Ashram last time. Police are conducting raids to nab him.
As many as 130 persons have died in the mishap that took place in Hathras on Tuesday. Surajpal was addressing his devotees when the incident took place. The actual number of deaths may go up to 200.
The New Indian has accessed the FIR copy which says that it was the fault of the organiser due to which the incident happened.
