NEW DELHI: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav attends the swearing-in ceremony of Hemant Soren, who takes the oath as Jharkhandโs Chief Minister for the second consecutive term. The JMM-led alliance secures 56 seats in the 81-member Assembly, with JMM winning 34 seats and allies Congress, RJD, and CPI-ML contributing 22 seats. Sorenโs victory marks the first time in Jharkhandโs history that an incumbent government returns to power after completing a full term.
Key leaders, including Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and AAPโs Arvind Kejriwal, attend the event. Kejriwal calls the win โvery inspiring.โ

Soren and his wife, Kalpana Soren, meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah earlier this week, highlighting efforts to maintain cooperation despite political differences.
The BJP-led NDA, struggling in this election, secures 24 seats, with the BJP winning 21 and its allies AJSU, LJP (Ram Vilas), and JD(U) winning one seat each. Independent candidate Jairam Kumar Mahato of Jharkhand Loktantrik Krantikari Morcha wins from Dumri.
This election reshapes Jharkhandโs political landscape, cementing Sorenโs leadership and emphasizing regional unity within the INDIA alliance.
