AITC official Twitter handle hacked; name changed to Yuga Labs

Official Twitter handle of All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) seems to have been hacked and the party’s name was changed to ‘Yuga labs’ on Tuesday morning.

The logo appeared in ‘Y’ shape in black font. The account continued to have a blue tick indicating verification by Twitter.

When The New Indian searched it showed that there is already an account of Yuga lab that was last active on September 28, 2022.

Starting its Twitter journey in 2021, Yuga Labs, according to its original Twitter handle is a U.S.-based blockchain company working with NFT.

In an official text message Derek O’Brien, Leader of, AITC Parliamentary Party, Rajya Sabha states that the AITC Twitter handle has been compromised.

“The official Twitter handle of the All India Trinamool Congress has been compromised.
We are in touch with officials from Twitter who are working to rectify the issue. They have assured us of prompt action, ” says O’Brien.

Close to 13 hours ago AITC last posted the tweet, “didi Suraksha Kawach’ a welfare scheme for the people of West Bengal.”

The last tweet was “#DidirSurakshaKawach is a mammoth effort at securing basic sustenance for every resident in Bengal, irrespective of age, gender, caste or religion. To achieve state-wide inclusive growth & expand welfare cover, Didir Doots are generating awareness across households,”

The issue of cyber hacking targeting political parties or important institutions has become common in India.

In the month of November, All India Institute of medical sciences faced cyber hacking where the hackers demanded ransom in cryptocurrency from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi emerged, cyber security experts have called this attack on the institute’s servers and database the biggest in Indian history.
