NEW DELHI: At the end of this month, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is holding two crucial meetings in Patna and Chitrakoot to chalk out its strategy for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
On July 30-31, the top leadership of the party including BJP president JP Nadda, general secretary (organisation) BL Santhosh, Union home minister Amit Shah, party’s national general secretaries and heads of its seven different morchas will deliberate on the party’s strategy.
Nadda will inaugurate the meeting on July 30 and Shah will address the meeting on the concluding day on July 31.
The party has seven different morchas – Yuva Morcha, Mahila Morcha, SC Morcha, ST Morcha, Minority Morcha, Kisan Morcha and OBC Morcha.
In a significant move, the senior office bearers of different frontal organisations have been asked to spend 48 hours in each of 243 assembly constituencies in Bihar.
The top political leadership of Uttar Pradesh, including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, will be attending the party’s brainstorming session in Chitrakoot on July 29-31.
The meeting in Chitrakoot will be attended by all the senior political leaders from the state including Union ministers and ministers in the Uttar Pradesh government.
The district presidents and in-charges will provide their feedback to the top political leadership of the party and will also get guidance about the crucial 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
The BJP has 64 MPs in the state, with ally Apna Dal having two MPs. The party has got a shot in the arm with recent bypoll wins in Azamgarh and Rampur.
A source in the party told The New Indian that the focus of the party in Uttar Pradesh is to at least repeat the performance of 2014 when the party won 71 seats on its own and ally Apna Dal won two more seats.
