NEW DELHI: Agastya Nanda, who recently marked his acting debut in the Netflix film “The Archies,” is poised for his first major role in Sriram Raghavan’s upcoming film “Ekkis.” The movie, produced by Dinesh Vijan, is a biopic on the 1971 war hero Arun Khetarpal and will feature Dharmendra in a pivotal role.

According to a report by Pinkvilla, Agastya is scheduled to commence shooting for “Ekkis” in January 2024. The news comes after an eventful year for the budding actor, who not only made his acting debut in “The Archies” but also secured a role in Sriram Raghavan’s highly anticipated project.

Sources close to the development reveal that Agastya has diligently prepared for his role by attending acting workshops with Sriram Raghavan and specialized coaches. The young actor has focused on refining his body language to authentically portray India’s celebrated war hero, Arun Khetarpal.

“Ekkis” follows Agastya’s portrayal of Archie Andrews in “The Archies,” a Netflix musical set in 1960s India, exploring themes of romance, friendship, and the future of Riverdale. In contrast, “Ekkis” will showcase Agastya as an army officer during the 1971 India-Pakistan war, emphasizing the father-son bond against the backdrop of historical events.

This film marks Sriram Raghavan and Dinesh Vijan’s second collaboration since their successful venture with “Badlapur” in 2015. With Agastya Nanda taking on a significant role in “Ekkis,” the team is all set to bring the heroic tale to the big screen, combining a powerful narrative with skilled performances.
