After Noida, Another Guard Assaulted In Gurugram For Lift Snag

GURUGRAM: Barely days after a female lawyer assaulted a security guard at a residential society in Noida, a similar incident took place in Gurugram, Haryana. A man abused and slapped a guard, who rescued him from a faulty life at a high-rise society in Gurugram.

Varun Nath, a resident of The Close North Apartments at Nirvana Country of Gurugram’s Sector 50 got trapped for a few minutes inside the lift as it developed a technical snag on Monday. He rang the emergency bell and the lift operator and guards opened the gate within minutes.

As soon he came out, Nath started shouting at Ashok Kumar. He even slapped the security guard, in his 50s, multiple times even as the latter tried to pacify a visibly-upset Nath.

CCTV footage of the incident shows the accused also roughing up the lift operator.

In protest, all security guards of the residential society staged a protest, with some of them, including Kumar, launching a strike against the assault. Later, Resident Welfare Association (RWA) and other residents pacified the demonstrators.

The Gurugram Police have registered a case under sections 323 (causing hurt), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against Nath at Section-50 police station and arrested him.

By the evening, the accused was released on bail by a local court since all the charges pressured against him were bailable.

One week back, a woman, a lawyer by profession, was arrested for abusing and assaulting a security guard at a residential colony in Sector-128 of Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

Bhavya Roy, the accused woman, also made objectionable remarks against people belonging to a particular state, shows a video which went viral on social media platforms. The main victim, Anoop Kumar, told the Noida police that the woman misbehaved with him for the delay in opening the exit gate of the society.

She also got bail within two days.
