NEW DELHI: After losing out on his Chief Ministerial berth in Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan claimed his loyalty to the party, illustrating that he would carry out any role decided for him by the party.
During an interaction with news agencies, the former CM said that he is, in essence, a karyakarta of the saffron party. “As a karyakarta, I will carry out whatever duty in whatever capacity as decided by the party,” Chouhan said.
@JPNadda pic.twitter.com/qJ5DC7XqFR

As there remains an air of doubt concerning the future of the former CM, speculations have remained afloat. Earlier in December, he was replaced by debutante Mohan Yadav who claimed the office of MP CM. Suffice it to say, even Chouhan remains in the dark as he highlighted that he would be a part of the Centre as well as the State when asked about his future plans.
“Hum vidhayak mein bhi rahenge, kendra mein bhi rahenge (I will be in the State as well as the Centre). I don’t think about myself. Anybody who thinks about themselves before the party is not a good person,” Chouhan remarked.

However, he also highlighted the fact that for the love and respect of his voters, one does not need a specific seat. “Behnon aur bhaiyon ke pyaar ke liye koi satte ki zaroorat nahi hai (It is not important to be the CM to get the love of my brothers and sisters)”

Presently, he is set to attend the state’s BJP legislature meeting which is slated to go underway on Tuesday.

Earlier, Chouhan had cited pride at being able to serve the people of MP for a period of “almost 17 years”.

“I am proud and self-satisfied that I served the people as the Chief Minister of the state for almost 17 years and whether it was development or public welfare, I was able to do good work,” he tweeted on microblogging site, X.
As Yadav took his oath, Chouhan iterated that he hoped to work better under the incumbent CM’s leadership.
