Accused Aftab Ameen Poonawala refused to marry his girlfriend Shraddha Walker, leading frequent quarrels between them.

In yet another sensational revelation into Shraddha Madan murder case, now it has come to the fore that her murderer boyfriend Aftaab Amin Poonawallah did not tell his landlord about her even though they stayed together at an apartment in Vasai near Mumbai.

According to norms, all tenants living in rented accommodation are required to be named in the rent agreement.

However, Aftaab did not make his girlfriend Shraddha a co-tenant despite living together at a flat in Regal CHSL Everyshine City housing society in Vasai of Palghar district.

As per the rent agreement accessed by The New Indian, Aftaab took the apartment on rent from a woman having her permanent address in Vasai West, in September 2020.

As per local media, the flat owner woman was not aware of Aftaab and Shraddha’s live-in relationship.

Shraddha was murdered and chopped into 35 pieces by Aftaab at another rented flat following a tiff in Mehrauli area of Delhi on May 18, three days after they moved in.

The Delhi Police, which is investigating the case, has filed an application before a court in Delhi seeking a narco analysis test on Aaftab. The decision on the plea has been reserved by the court.

Sources also said the Delhi Police are facing challenges in collecting evidence to make a strong case against Aftaab whose barbaric act has shaken the conscience of the nation.

Till Wednesday, the police could not find the severed head of the victim even as the search continued.

Out of a total of 35, 13 body parts have been recovered from Mehrauli jungles and sent for forensic examination. A DNA examination will also be conducted on the recovered body parts.

It is also been said the senior officers are contemplating handing over the case to the Crime Branch or Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for further examination.

On Wednesday, a team of Delhi Police visited the couple’s flat where Aftaab stored Shraddha’s body parts in a refrigerator and threw them in jungles over a period of more than 15 days.

Aftaab and Shraddha came in contact through dating app Bumble in 2019 when she was working at a call centre in Malad, Mumbai. Her parents were against their relationship, but she rebelled and eloped with Aaftab to Delhi.
