SRINAGAR: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has initiated two separate preliminary inquiries (PE) in connection with alleged irregularities in the Srinagar Smart City project, following credible inputs about misuse of resources and substandard work.   The first inquiry, registered as PE No. 01/2025 at Police Station ACB Srinagar, pertains to the suspected misappropriation of materials such as devari stones, paving tiles, and iron grills.   The materials, intended for the project’s improvement and beautification efforts, are alleged to have been unaccounted for or unlawfully sold in the open market for personal benefit instead of being preserved in the stores of the relevant engineering division.
