NEW DELHI: Senior lawyer Tanvir Ahmed Mir, who had represented Aarushi Talwar murder case in Allahabad High Court, is representing ex-Amnesty International India chief Aakar Patel in a Delhi court.
Mir has been engaged by Patel in Rouse Avenue court hours after CBI issued LoC to him.
Patel was on Wednesday stopped at Bengaluru airport while he was leaving for the US in connection with a case.
Mir had represented Arushi Talwar’s parents Dr Nupur Talwar and Dr Rakesh Talwar in Allahabad High Court and won the case.
Taking to Twitter, Patel wrote, “Stopped from leaving india at Bangalore airport. I am on the exit control list. Got my passport back through a court order specifically for this trip to the US.”

Meanwhile, CBI sources said that Patel was granted permission to travel to the US by a Surat court in a case registered by the Gujarat police.
However, the Look Out Notice (LOC) was opened against him and subsequently he was stopped from leaving India today in connection with another case registered by the CBI against Amnesty International India and others for alleged Foreign Contributions Regulation Act (FCRA) violations pertaining to Rs 36 crore foreign fundings, the source added.
