AAP Wants Discussions On Temple Demolition, GST on ‘Sarai’

NEW DELHI: Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday said that they want the discussions on the issues of Radha-Krishna temple demolition in Gujarat and 12 per cent GST imposed on Sarai around Harmandir Sahib temple in Punjab.

AAP MP’s Sanjay Singh and Raghav Chadha have issued a suspension of business notices in the Rajya Sabha, respectively.

Singh said this temple is demolished to favour a builder. “Over 1200 BJP workers have already resigned from the party but still the present BJP government did not stop and demolished the temple. Several women were also roughed up by the police. I want discussion on it,” said Singh.

Meanwhile, Chadha said “I hereby give notice under Rule 267 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Council of States (Rajya Sabha) of my intention to move the following motion for suspension of business listed for 3rd August 2022:

“That this house suspends Zero Hour and other relevant rules relating to Question Hour and other businesses of the day to have a discussion on the imposition of 12 per cent GST on Sarai’s around Shri Harmandir Sahab (Golden Temple) in Amritsar,” said Chadha.
