The complaint alleges that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is attempting to poach sitting AAP MLAs and candidates by offering them monetary bribes and ministerial positions. The complaint, filed at the ACB office in Civil Lines, Delhi, comes amid escalating political tensions in the national capital.

 

In his complaint, Singh stated that he received information from his colleagues on February 6, 2025, around 2:30 PM, while he was present in Parliament. According to the complaint, BJP leaders allegedly contacted several AAP MLAs and candidates, offering them crores of rupees and ministerial posts in exchange for switching parties. Singh claimed that this is not the first time such attempts have been made, recalling a similar incident in 2013 involving former BJP state vice-president Sher Singh Dagar, who was accused of trying to buy an AAP MLA.

 

 

The complaint further mentions that Delhi Minister Mukesh Ahlawat received a phone call on February 6, 2025, at 12:09 PM, from an unknown number (9971862555). The caller reportedly offered Ahlawat a ministerial position and โ‚น15 crore to join the BJP. Ahlawat later tweeted about the incident on social media platform X. Singh also claimed that six other MLAs informed him of receiving similar offers.

 

Singh held a press conference at 4:00 PM on February 6 to bring the matter to the mediaโ€™s attention. The following day, on February 7, he attended a meeting of AAP MLAs, where several legislators reportedly shared similar experiences of being approached with offers to join the BJP. Singh stated that he decided to approach the ACB after learning that the bureau sought his statement on the matter.

 

 

The complaint has sparked a fresh political row in Delhi,. TheAAP aaccusesthe BJP of using unethical means to destabilize the elected government. The BJP has yet to respond to the allegations. The ACB has acknowledged receipt of the complaint and is expected to initiate an investigation into the matter.

 

This development comes as political parties prepare for upcoming elections, and such allegations could have significant implications for the political landscape in Delhi.
