AAP MP accuses PMO, Delhi LG of 24-hour surveillance of CM Kejriwal

New Delhi – Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Vinai Kumar Saxena, accusing them of monitoring Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal 24 hours a day through CCTV surveillance.

In his letters, Singh raised concerns about the alleged harassment and constant surveillance of Kejriwal. He stated that the treatment being meted out to an elected chief minister was against the dignity and system of a democracy like India.

Singh revealed that Kejriwal had to face all this for getting life-saving insulin administered. He reminded PM Modi of the famous speech by the late PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the Parliament, emphasizing the importance of opposition in a democracy.

The AAP leader expressed that the people of Delhi were in deep pain over the harassment that their elected chief minister was being subjected to. He alleged that Tihar Jail has been turned into a torture chamber for Kejriwal and that his every activity is being monitored as if he is a big spy.

Singh criticized the government for keeping a watch on Kejriwal, questioning the need for 24-hour surveillance. He also pointed out that despite being monitored throughout the day, Kejriwal was not given life-saving insulin for 23 days, even though his sugar levels were worsening.

In his letter to the LG, Singh wrote that he has learnt through reliable sources that Kejriwal is being monitored 24 hours by the LG office through CCTV cameras and all this information is being sent to the Prime Minister’s Office.

The senior AAP leader concluded his letter to the PM by stating that the treatment being given to Kejriwal in jail is a violation of the provisions under Article 21 of the Constitution.
