NEW DELHI: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday complained to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), alleging that its MLAs were receiving threat calls offering them Rs 15 crore to switch to the BJP or face consequences.

AAP MP Sanjay Singh filed the complaint, stating that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was engaging in unethical practices to destabilize the party. โ€œBJP is the most corrupt party in the country. They believe in breaking other parties and have toppled governments in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Arunachal Pradesh. Do we need a certificate from them that they are not dishonest? We have complained and demanded an inquiry. After our allegations, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva approached the Lieutenant Governor and wrote a letter to the ACB. I have lodged a complaint and provided the phone number from which AAP leader Mukesh Kumar Ahlawat was contacted,โ€ said Singh.

Reacting to the allegations, BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa dismissed them as political drama. โ€œSanjay Singhโ€™s complaint to the ACB is nothing but a desperate attempt to divert attention from AAPโ€™s inevitable defeat. Instead of facing the peopleโ€™s verdict, AAP is crying foul and making baseless allegations. The reality is that their candidates have lost confidence in the partyโ€™s leadership. The people of Delhi have rejected their corruption and lies. BJP believes in democracy, not intimidation,โ€ Sirsa said.

Meanwhile, the Anti-Corruption Branch has issued a notice to AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, summoning him for an investigation into the alleged bribery attempts involving AAP MLAs.
