NEW DELHI: In a fresh political tussle ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of orchestrating a massive voter fraud conspiracy. Addressing a press conference on Monday, Kejriwal alleged suspicious voter registrations at the addresses of several BJP MPs and claimed the complicity of local District Magistrates in facilitating fake votes.

Kejriwal announced that a delegation, including Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, and MPs Sanjay Singh and Raghav Chadha, would meet the Chief Election Commissioner at 3 pm to seek action against the alleged irregularities.

The AAP leader also raised concerns over the disqualification of Awadh Ojha, the party’s candidate from Patparganj. According to Kejriwal, Ojha had submitted Form 8 on January 7 to transfer his voter registration from Greater Noida to Delhi. While January 7 was initially communicated as the last date, the Delhi Election Commission allegedly issued a sudden order revising the deadline to January 6. Kejriwal questioned the legality of this change, suggesting it was aimed at debarring Ojha from contesting.

Highlighting another issue, Kejriwal alleged that BJP MPs had registered 30-40 new voters at their residential addresses, which previously listed only a handful of voters. “This shows collusion between the BJP and local officials,” he claimed, urging the Election Commission to address the matter immediately.
