NEW DELHI: The eighth edition of the Indian Art Festival, held at the Constitution Club of India from November 2 to 5, wowed visitors with an extensive display of 10,000 exquisite artworks, all crafted by a thousand talented artists from across India.This artistic extravaganza featured a diverse range of styles, from figurative to abstract, traditional to architectural, landscapes to wildlife, and religious themes, promising a vibrant visual experience.
Anurag Anand, a visual artist and author, expressed his fascination for human habitations and everyday life, emphasising the emotive power of art. Speaking with The New Indian, he stated, “For me, art is a medium of expression, whether it’s deep and dark or joyful, and human houses and settlements fascinate me a lot.”
The festival served as a nurturing ground for emerging talents, presenting a rich tapestry of art forms from different corners of India, as Rajendra Patil, the festival’s founder director, highlighted.
Visitors could explore diverse works, such as Shruthi Challani’s still life, Seema Sethi’s traditional paintings, Prateek Kushwaha’s wildlife art, Pavani Nagpal’s tribute to goddess Durga, and Moushami Bharacharyya’s modern depictions of Indian women.
Art, as Rupali Khanna, the visionary behind ‘Paint Your Own Life,’ eloquently explained, embodies various meanings and perceptions.
