NEW DELHI: With no end to impasse between India and Canada over probe into pro-Khalistan terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar’s mysterious death, the Modi dispensation has refused to relent over the accusations of any foul play by Justin Trudeau as it attached physical assets belonging to the evasive terrorists wanted in India on Saturday.

National Investigation Agency (NIA) has now seized the properties and other assets of the banned US-based Khalistani outfit Sikh For Justice’s (SFJ) Gurpatwant Singh Pannu and Nijjar under section 33(5) of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, 1967 (UAPA).

The NIA has placed a notice on several properties owned by Pannun and Nijjar in Amritsar, Chandigarh, and Mohali.

The New Indian has accessed the NIA attachment order.

NIA had registered the case against both Pannun and Nijjar first in 2020 with charges of criminal conspiracy and promotion of enmity apart from the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967. Panun, who operates an opulent law firm in the US and Canada, has its offices spread in two locations of New York, first at the 350-05 Avenue, 39th floor of the Empire State Building, and second at 167-05 Powell BLVD A, unit 22, Whitestone.

His permanent residence has been in Chandigarh before he migrated to the US.

This action by NIA came on a day when British Columbia Premier David Eby, told media that  he, like other Canadians, was waiting yet for Trudeau administration to share the irrefutable proof on India’s involvement in the killing even as information provided to him so far was only ‘open source information’.
