NEW DELHI: In a significant milestone for Indiaโs ambition to host world-class meetings, conferences, and exhibitions, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the โYashoBhoomiโ MICE facility in Delhiโs Dwarka on Friday.
The Prime Minister also inaugurated the extension of the Delhi Airport Metro Express line from Dwarka Sector 21 to a new metro station at Dwarka Sector 25, connecting โYashoBhoomiโ seamlessly to the cityโs transportation network.
โYashoBhoomiโ is one of the worldโs largest MICE facilities, with a total project area of over 8.9 lakh square meters and a built-up area of over 1.8 lakh square meters. The heart of โYashoBhoomiโ is its convention centre, which spans over 73000 square meters and includes 15 convention rooms, including the main auditorium and the grand ballroom. These facilities can collectively accommodate up to 11,000 delegates.

The main auditorium, with a seating capacity of approximately 6,000 guests, features an innovative automated seating system that can transform the floor from a flat configuration to an auditorium-style tiered seating arrangement. The grand ballroom, adorned with a distinctive petal ceiling, can host around 2,500 guests and offers an extended open area seating up to 500 people.
Apart from these, the facility boasts 13 meeting rooms spread across eight floors, catering to meetings of various scales.
โYashoBhoomiโ also showcases one of the worldโs largest Exhibition halls, encompassing over 1.07 lakh square meters. These halls are poised to host exhibitions, trade fairs, and business events, connected to a grand foyer space adorned with a unique copper ceiling, allowing filtered natural light through skylights. The foyer will house various support facilities such as media rooms, VVIP lounges, cloak facilities, and a visitor information center.
Demonstrating a commitment to sustainability, โYashoBhoomiโ features state-of-the-art wastewater treatment systems with 100% wastewater reuse, rainwater harvesting, rooftop solar panels, and has received a prestigious Green Cities Platinum certification from CIIโs Indian Green Building Council (IGBC).

The extension of the Delhi Airport Metro Express line to Dwarka Sector 25 will further enhance the accessibility of โYashoBhoomiโ to the public. Delhi Metro will also increase the operational speed of metro trains on the Airport Express Line from 90 to 120 km/hr, significantly reducing travel time. The total journey from New Delhi to YashoBhoomi Dwarka Sector 25 will now take just about 21 minutes.
