A video of Shiv Sena MLA Prakash Surve and party spokesperson Sheetal Mhatre kissing during an Ashirvad Yatra in Dahisar, Maharashtra has become viral on social media.
After the video became widely circulated, a case was registered at Dahisar police station under various sections of the IPC and two individuals have been arrested in connection with the case.
The Mumbai police have released a statement identifying the arrested individuals as Manas Kuwar and Ashok Mishra.
Surve's family has denied the authenticity of the video, claiming it was doctored to defame the leader.
Mhatre, meanwhile, has accused those responsible for the video of character assassination.
