Victim had gone to the salon inside DLF Mall in Noida for a hair spa service
The First Information Report (FIR) lodged by the victim of molestation at Looks Unisex Salon inside DLF Mall in Noida has revealed the horrific ordeal that she had to undergo.
In her FIR, a copy of which has been accessed by The New Indian, the victim also complained about the non-cooperative behaviour of the salon manager, despite informing them about the matter.
The 30-year-old victim had gone to the salon to receive a hair spa. The incident took place at around 3 pm inside the Looks Salon on the third floor of DLF Mall in Sector 20 of Noida.
In her FIR, the victim, who is a cabin crew member at a private airline, said a male staffer identified as Abhishek was assigned to her. The New Indian has also accessed the CCTV footage, where the accused staffer can be seen giving a massage to the victim.
“I was assigned by the manager, a man named Abhishek, to render the service. I was taken to a service room. During the service, the man touched my breast multiple times. He was cautious when someone else walked into the room. As soon as the room was empty, he would touch my breast again. I immediately reacted and asked him to stop and get my billing done,” the victim said in her FIR.

“I was scared initially and did not complain to the manager. However, I was extremely uncomfortable, so I came back to confront the man. I spoke to the manager. He (accused Abhishek) admitted his fault in front of my friend and the managers of the salon, Soniya Chauhan and Shezad Alam. The manager asked Abhishek to leave the store immediately and told me that he had been fired,” the victim said in her complaint.
While the victim is still in a state of shock following the horrific incident on Republic Day, The New Indian caught up with her friend who accompanied her to the mall.
The friend of the victim alleges that the managers were very rude and despite informing them about the incident, they did not cooperate.
“My friend is still under mental trauma and she is not able to join her work as of now. These people hire such untrained staff and many times the victim does not even complain about such acts. But we will pursue this case and take it to its logical end,” the victim’s friend told The New Indian.
The New Indian also tried to talk with the owner of the salon, but they were reluctant to comment on the matter. The owner, Sanjay Dutta Sunjay, said that he was not aware of the incident because he was abroad.
Meanwhile, based on her complaint, the Noida Police registered a case under Section 354 (assault or criminal force against a woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Sector-20 police station and launched an investigation.
By late Thursday evening, the police had accessed the CCTV footage from the mall and nabbed the accused, Abhishek, who lives in Noida’s Chalera village in rented accommodation. He hails from Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh.
The police said that they produced the accused before a local court, which sent him to judicial custody. Police are also checking if Abhishek has any previous record of any such crime.
