In a sad turn of events, West Bengal CM lost a dear colleague Subrata Saha on December 29.

In the cabinet meeting today she wrote a condolence message saying she had a long personal relationship with Subratababu. His political and social contributions will be remembered."

Saha had a long political career. He was elected as the only Trinamool MLA from Murshidabad district from Sagardighi in 2011.

Saha became MLA from the centre three consecutive times.

Saha was the Minister of State for the Food Processing Department of the state.

He fell ill on Wednesday night and was admitted to Murshidabad Medical College in Berhampore.

He died there suddenly around 10:40 am on Thursday.

The Chief Minister also wrote, "With the demise of Subrata Saha, a vacuum has been created in the political world. My heartfelt condolences to Subrata Saha's family."
