See how India gave a ‘befitting reply’ to China in the Tawang clash

China attempted incursion on December 9 on Yangtse area of Tawang sector in Arunachal Pradesh.

They crossed the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the “Dongzhang” area were blocked by Indian soldiers who had “illegally crossed the line”.

Since Galwan valley clash in 2020, this is the first clash closest encounter where the Indian troops and the People's Liberation Army have had since the deadly Galwan incident in eastern Ladakh

The army said  the soldiers on the two sides beat each other with sticks and canes in the agreed disputed area.

Arunachal Chief Minister Pema Khandu, “It’s not 1962 anymore. If anyone tries to transgress, our brave soldiers will give a befitting reply”.

Tawang is a sparsely populated area  with 6200 civilians.

India has deployed Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) one kms west from the eastern side of the border and 22 kms on the eastern side of the Waichin lake.
