Rana Kapoor, Yes Bank Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) was granted bail by Delhi High Court in a money laundering case on Friday.

The verdict on Kapoor’s bail application was given by Justice Sudhir Kumar Jain.

Kapoor’s name surfaced in a CBI investigation on a Rs 466.51 crore bank fraud.

Rana Kapoor’s case pertains to the Enforcement Directorate's probe against Gautam Thapar, Avantha Realty Limited (ARL), Oyster Buildwell Private Limited (OBPL) and several others.

They have been charged with criminal breach of trust, cheating, criminal conspiracy, and misappropriation of public money by forgery.

ED told the trial court that around Rs 500 crore was syphoned off through OBPL, Jhabua Power Limited (JPL), Jhabua Power Investment Limited (JPIL), Avantha Power and Infrastructure Limited (APIL).

Thapar controls these companies directly or indirectly.

There were sufficient grounds to proceed against the accused persons, the trial court held.
