Chinese National Held In Delhi For Anti-India Activity

A female Chinese national, identified as Cai Ruo, was arrested by the Delhi Police Special Cell for allegedly being involved in anti-India activities. She was staying in Majnu Ka Tila in North Delhi by changing her name and hiding her identity as a Buddhist monk, police said.

Chinese national Cai Ruo arrested from Tibetan settlement of Majnu Ka Tilla in Delhi

A female Chinese national, identified as Cai Ruo, was arrested by the Delhi Police Special Cell for allegedly being involved in anti-India activities.

Ruo had documents of Nepalese citizenship and was staying in Majnu Ka Tila in North Delhi by changing her name and hiding her identity as a Buddhist monk, police said.

According to Delhi police, based on secret information, a raid was conducted at the Majnu Ka Tilla located in North Delhi. A team of special cells nabbed Chinese lady Cai Ruo on October 17.

Police said Ruo had been staying in India since 2019 and was allegedly involved in anti-India activities by changing her name and identity. She was staying in India as Dolma Lama, a Buddhist monk with Nepali citizenship.

Police said that her actual address in China is FU XIN Road, Haikou City, Meilan District, Hainan Province.

“During verification, one Nepalese Citizenship Certificate in the name of Dolma Lama, D/o Kami Lama, R/o Kathmandu, Nepal, was recovered from her. However, from verification from FRRO, it has been found that she is a Chinese citizen and travelled to India in 2019 as a Chinese citizen on Chinese PP No. E87857750,” the police said.

A case under sections 120B read with 419/420/467/474 of the IPC and 14 of the Foreigners Act was registered at the Special Cell and was further investigated.

The local police have also been alerted about the arrest of this woman. The woman has been interrogated by the concerned agencies, police said.

Since it is the time of the Diwali festival, the local police are vigilant and in alert mode. The national capital remains on high alert during festivities, the police added.

“The police are trying to ascertain if more such people are staying in Majnu Ka Tilla and its surrounding areas,” police said.
