Watch Madhavan’s Rocketry For Free In Lucknow This I-Day

NEW DELHI: Movie lovers can watch R Madhavan-starrer ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’ in many multiplex theatres of Lucknow for free on Independence Day, August 15.

The price of the ticket for nearly 2000 people in 11 movie theatres will be borne by the Lucknow district administration, it announced on Thursday.

People can watch the movie in INOX RiverSide, Gomti Nagar; Inox Umrao, Nishanganj; Inox Crown, Chinhat; Inox Phoenix Palassio, Gomti Nagar Extension; Inox Garden Galleria, Telibagh; and PVR Phoenix, Alambagh.

Other multiplexes where the biographical drama can be watched are PVR, Shaharaganj; PVR Singapore Mall, Gomti Nagar; Cinepolis Fun Republic, Gomti Nagar; Cinepolis One Awadh, Gomti Nagar; and Web Multiplex, Gomti Nagar.

Apart from Rocketry, residents of Lucknow can also watch ‘Match of Life’ for free in Krishna Carnival, Alambagh on the occasion of the 75th year of India’s Independence.

“Patriotic films are displayed for free in cinema halls of the district every year on the occasion of Independence Day. Similarly, this year too, these two movies will be exhibited in 12 multiplexes of the district,” officials said.

They also said that the ticket will be available for movie lovers on the basis of ‘first come, first served’, said the Lucknow district magistrate.

Based on the life of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) scientist Nambi Narayanan, Madhavan’s ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’ have generated enormous buzz in the country.

Nambi was falsely charged with espionage and brutally tortured in jail. He was later acquitted of all charges by the Supreme Court of India.

The film has been directed by actor Madhavan, who plays Nambi.

‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’ is a story of a brilliant aerospace engineer who is steadfastly driven to bring laurels for India in satellite space despite many obstacles.

A patriot, he puts his country ahead of his family. But his life is thrown into turmoil when one day the Kerala police arrest him on the charges of espionage.

In the custody, he is subjected to inhuman torture. His family is callously pilloried and ostracised.
