Four Die After Falling From 17th Floor At Under-Construction Building

NEW DELHI: On Tuesday evening, four construction workers were killed and one was hurt when they fell from the 17th floor of a tower that was still under construction in the Emaar, Palm Hills Society in Sector 77, Gurugram.

On the building’s 17th floor, the workers were repairing a tower crane when they slipped and fell. Police said prima facie it has come out that the contractor was not following the proper safety measures.

“A case under relevant sections is being registered against the contractor and we have started the probe. The accused who is responsible for this incident will be arrested soon,” said Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Suresh Kumar told the media.

All the labourers were from Bihar. The injured worker is under treatment at the hospital.

Last month, in a similar kind of incident, two labourers died after they fell off from an under-construction apartment site in sector 65 of Gurugram.
