In a free-wheeling interview, at the backdrop of the captivating Himalayas in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh Chief minister Jai Ram Thakur spoke in length to The New Indian‘s Executive Editor Rohan Dua,

Ahead of the state assembly election, later this year, CM Thakur is confident about Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) returning to power. CM Thakur also spoke about former Prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and current PM Narendra Modi’s deep relations with the state.

The development work that his government has carried out, according to CM Thakur, will stand in good favour even though Hindutva is still very much present in the minds and hearts of the people of Himachal.

CM Thakur also said that though he would love to contest from Seraj, from where he had won five times, he will abide by what the party decides.

Talking about any possible role of famous Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, who also hails from Himachal, CM Thakur said that though he is proud of her, and she supports the party ideology, he is not sure if she is interested in politics.
