AYODHYA: The Uttar Pradesh government has announced plans to set up a museum in Ayodhya based on its flagship ‘One District, One Product’ (ODOP) initiative.
The museum will house notable products from each district of Uttar Pradesh, which will be available for purchase to visitors, as per the state government.
The ODOP museum will be set up at Ram Katha Sangrahalaya in the temple town.
District Magistrate Nitish Kumar said the place for the ODOP museum was finalized after inspection of several potential sites in the town.
Ayodhya receives thousands of people from the country and abroad every year. The number of visitors has increased since the Supreme Court’s historic judgement for the construction of a grand Ram Temple, said officials.
As part of the ODOP initiative, museums will be established in notable localities around the state.
The ODOP scheme was introduced by the Yogi government in January 2018.
Native products have been chosen for this initiative from all 75 districts. These products are being advertised by the state government on a national and worldwide scale.
