GANDHINAGAR: Koo co-founder and chief executive officer (CEO) Aprameya Radhakrishna on Tuesday said that the social media industry is evolving rapidly and the next decade is โ€œoursโ€.

Speaking at a panel discussion at the Digital India Week here, Radhakrishna said that social media is currently centralized. โ€œBut in the next five years, the sector will get decentralized and that Koo will enable the same,โ€ he told the audience.

With Kooโ€™s presence in Nigeria, he said, India has become the third country after the United States and China to have a social media platform that is being used in another country.

Launched in March 2020 as a multi-lingual micro-blogging platform, Koo App has enabled Indians to express themselves online in their mother tongue. The App is currently available in 10 languages โ€“ Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Assamese, Bengali and English.
