DEHRADUN: The Queen of Hills has been bustling with tourists as the heatwave sweep across the northern plains of India. People are thronging Mussoorie to get cooler winds and ambiance for their body and mind.
Tourists from Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and many other Indian states are in the hill town.
Himanshu Verma from Varanasi of Uttar Pradesh said, “In our cities temperatures are touching 45 degrees but here the wind is so cool and comforting. We will stay here for 3-4 days before we go back.”
Gaurav Tomar, who runs an upmarket hotel in the hill station, “We are fully occupied this month. We are having good business and the season is as good as 2019.”
Not only plains, several parts of Uttarakhand is also grappling with heatwave conditions. On June 4, temperature in capital Dehradun crossed 41 degrees Celsius after a gap of 10 years.
