NEW DELHI: In a bid to revive the fortunes of the party and boost the sagging morale of the party workers in Bengal, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Jagat Prakash Nadda will be in the state for a two-day visit starting June 8.

Most importantly, Nadda will hold crucial closed-door meetings with party workers.

Nadda’s visit holds significance as prominent faces of the party in Bengal – such as Mukul Roy, Babul Supriyo and Arjun Singh – have returned to Trinamool Congress (TMC).

Nadda will visit Chinsura and Chandannagar before addressing the inaugural session of the BJP West Bengal State Executive Committee meeting on day 1 of his visit.
The meeting is scheduled to start at 3 pm. It will be followed by other closed-door meetings.

Nadda will also visit Vande Matram Bhavan, Chinsura and the Rash Behari Bose Research Institute in Chandannagar.

Interestingly, both these seats (Chinsura and Chandannagar) were won by TMC in the 2021 Bengal Assembly election.

On the second day of his visit on June 9, Nadda will go for a brief visit to Belur Math before commencing the crucial interaction with MP/MLA/State office Bearers at Westin at 11 am.

The Party president will also attain Karyakarta Sammelan (Zila/Mandal/Morcha) at the Science City auditorium and Nagrik Sammelan at Kala Mandir. He will depart for Delhi on the same day.

TMC Rajya Sabha MP Shantanu Sen while speaking with The New Indian said, “BJP has become a house of cards which is falling sharply. It is very surprising to note that state BJP leaders have given false reports to their national president which we came to know through news reports.”

“Naddaji knows very well that there is no hope for BJP in Bengal in the coming 50 years. Despite coming to Bengal he knows what the outcome would be. For people of Bengal, development and Mamata Banerjee these words are synonyms to each other,” Sen added.
